Pumpkin Focaccia

The block of Gruyere cheese languishing in the dairy bin of my refrigerator, and the remaining pumpkin from previous baking escapades, led me to this latest creation...
Baking bread on Saturday morning is a certain way to release all of the stressors from the past week. It is also a lesson in patience...mix yeast with water, add flour and other ingredients...knead...wait one hour. Punch dough down (see above reference to releasing stress)...wait one hour. Finally top with cheese and pecans and...wait one hour!
It is unfortunate that I do not have photos of the final version (the above is the dough before it was baked), nor can I share the heady aroma that came from the kitchen. Worth the wait, enjoyed by everyone from age 70 to age 7.
